FHE Games - Poor Pussy

Poor Pussy is a classic Family Home Evening game at our house.  

The game is played with everyone sitting in a circle.  One person is a pussy cat.  They have to go up to individual people and try to get them to smile or laugh.  The person on the other hand has to pat the pussy on the head 3 times and say, "Poor pussy, poor pussy, poor pussy."  If they can do it without cracking a smile, the pussy has to move on to someone else.  If they crack, they are the new pussy.

We used to play this game when I was growing up.  

My dad was the king.  

He could get anyone to laugh, especially my mom.  He would get down on his hands and knees. drag one leg behind him and meow pitifully and he hobbled up to you for a pat on the head.  

We played it one afternoon at FAT, when my youngest brother brought his girlfriend to meet us all for the first time.  

She smiled and had to be the pussy.  She crawled over to my sister and licked her leg.  

We new then that she fit perfectly into the family.  (They were married soon after.)
