Kites and Sunburns

Last Wednesday the cub scouts went to Gasworks park to fly kites. We were very late, but O wanted to go, so we packed everyone up and set out, arriving about 1/2 hour after pack meeting should have ended. The Scoutmaster was still there just packing up the kites. She was so sweet, she got the kites out for the kids to fly and they had so much fun, she let us keep them.

On Friday, I took the kids and a couple of neighbors to Kite hill at Magnuson park, we spent the afternoon on the hill, flying kites, playing and having a great time. It was sunny and cloudy and pleasant. We all got sunburned. Well all of us that burn. D, H and J didn't burn. Z got her first sunburn. She had a hood and long sleeves and her legs and feet covered so it just got her little face and fingers. I was so sad.  She still was just as happy as ever.

Its nice to know that babies survive sunburns, too. Jay and Tammy's kids love kites, too. It looks like we'll have lots of fun with Dad's kites on the coast this summer.
